Tagline Placement Standards

Tagline Placement Standards

Effective Date: February 25, 2026   Last Updated: February 25, 2026

Hibu Policy

Hibu does not place taglines directly beneath the logo in the website header.

While this placement was supported in the past, it is no longer permitted. Tagline length is difficult to control, and over time this led to crowded headers, inconsistent layouts, wrapping issues, and reduced readability — particularly on mobile devices.

To maintain clarity, performance, and visual consistency, the header is reserved for essential elements only: the logo, primary navigation, and approved calls to action.

Definition

A tagline is a short brand statement or marketing phrase that reinforces a company’s positioning, value, or personality (e.g., “Comfort now. Pay later. Stay chill.”).

Header tagline placement refers specifically to positioning that statement directly beneath or adjacent to the logo within the top navigation bar.

Purpose / Why It Matters

The header is one of the most constrained and performance-sensitive areas of the site. It must remain:

  • Clean and scannable
  • Structurally consistent across devices
  • Optimized for responsive behavior
  • Focused on navigation and conversion

Even short taglines can create layout instability due to:

  • Text wrapping across screen sizes
  • Translation length expansion
  • Font scaling on accessibility settings
  • Alignment shifts between desktop and mobile

When the header becomes crowded, usability declines. Visitors take longer to scan, primary actions become less prominent, and overall visual balance suffers.

This policy protects header clarity while ensuring the client’s messaging remains highly visible elsewhere.

Rules & Guidelines

  • Taglines may not be placed under or beside the logo in the header.
  • The header must remain limited to logo, navigation, and approved CTAs.
  • Exceptions are not permitted based on tagline length.
  • Header spacing may not be expanded to accommodate a tagline.
  • Taglines must not be embedded into the logo artwork to bypass this rule.

Approved Tagline Placements

Taglines are fully supported — just not in the header. Approved placements include:

  1. Above the H1 headline in the hero
  2. Below the H1 or below the primary CTA in the hero
  3. As the headline for the introductory content section
  4. As a caption tied to a client-supplied image (e.g., in Introduction or Why Choose Us sections)
  5. Integrated naturally within approved body copy, including:
  • Homepage introduction copy
  • About Us page content
  • Service page introductions
  • Service Area page introductions

When included within body copy, the tagline should read naturally within the content and not feel duplicated or artificially inserted for repetition.

These placements keep the tagline above the fold, highly visible, and readable without compromising header structure.
