Last Updated: February 1, 2026
Definition
The Instagram Photo Gallery Feed allows a Hibu One Smart Site to automatically display images from a connected
Professional Instagram account (Business or Creator). The feed pulls recent image posts directly into the site’s Photo Gallery widget, keeping the display current without manual updates.
Eligibility & Account Requirements
- Only Professional Instagram accounts (Business or Creator) are supported.
- Personal or private accounts cannot be connected.
- Only one Instagram account may be connected per site.
- Clients do not provide login credentials to Hibu; access is handled securely through Instagram’s permissions workflow.
Display Rules & Content Behavior
- The widget displays
image posts only.
Videos, reels, stories, and collaborations are not supported. - Up to 100 of the most recent images may appear.
- Captions may display on desktop only, when enabled in settings.
- Feed updates automatically; new images may take up to two hours to appear.
- Due to Meta’s 2024 update, connections made before December 2024 must be reconnected.
Client Expectation Note
The Instagram Photo Gallery Feed is intended for clients who maintain an active, professional-quality Instagram presence. Connection reliability and content display depend on Meta’s integration and account status.
Integration With Hibu One Site
The Instagram Photo Gallery can be used in two ways:
1. As a Replacement for the Standard Gallery
The Instagram feed may replace the Home, Cat, or Core Page’s static gallery when:
- If questionnaire does not indicate specific Instagram placement on Gallery Page
- The client actively maintains a strong photo-based Instagram presence.
- Instagram contains more or better-quality images than the client provided.
2. Combined With Client-Supplied Images on a Gallery Page
The Instagram feed can be placed above or below the client’s images on the Gallery page. It can also act as a standalone gallery.
Placement rules:
- If the client has 25+ images (as one large set or multiple gallery sections):
- Place the Instagram gallery at the bottom of the page.
- This prevents overwhelming the layout and keeps the client’s photos primary.
- If the Instagram feed contains more images than the client provided:
- Place the Instagram gallery above the client images.
- This ensures visitors see the most up-to-date and active content first.
Anchor-Link Requirement
In all placement scenarios:
- Add an anchor link labeled “Instagram Gallery” that points directly to the Instagram gallery section, in addition to any client-provided image sections.
- Do not add an anchor if the Instagram Gallery is the only gallery on the page.
- This allows gallery sub-navigation, internal navigation, CTA buttons, and homepage copy blocks to link users precisely to the correct gallery section.
