Badge / Accreditation Logos
Effective Date: February 1, 2026 Last Updated: February 24, 2026
Hibu Policy
If a client supplies badge, accreditation, certification, award, or industry logos, we will place them according to the following rules:
- If two (2) to twenty-five (25) logos are provided, they will be placed in the designated badge row within the Footer.
- If only one (1) logo is provided, it will be placed within the Footer column (aligned with business information). A single-logo badge row will not be created.
- Up to three (3) logos may be placed in the Hero beneath the primary CTA if requested.
Badges, accreditation, certification, award, or industry logos, and the like:
- Must be client-supplied.
- Must not be hyperlinked.
- Must not function as navigation.
- Must not be placed between content sections.
- Must not be recreated or substituted if unavailable
Definition
For governance purposes, “Badge / Accreditation Logos” includes:
- Certifications
- Awards
- Membership badges
- Professional seals
- Industry logos
- Recognition marks
- Non-client logos
Regardless of how the client refers to the asset (badge, icon, accreditation, logo), all are governed under this single standard.
If someone asks, “Is this really a badge?” — for naming and placement purposes, the answer is
yes.

Placement Rules
Primary Location (Footer)
The Footer badge row is the standard location for Badge / Accreditation Logos.
- Minimum display in badge row: 2
- Maximum display: 25
- Logos must be visually normalized for consistent presentation.
If only one badge exists:
- Place it within the Footer column (near business hours or business info).
- Do not create a dedicated badge row for a single logo.

Hero Placement (Limited Exception)
Up to three (3) logos may be placed beneath the primary CTA within the Hero.
Conditions:
- Logos must remain visually secondary to the CTA.
- Sizing must be balanced and proportionate.
- The Hero must not become visually cluttered.
The Footer remains the primary badge location.

Naming Standard
All badge, icon, accreditation, award, and non-client logos must follow a standardized naming convention.
Format:
- entity-name-badge-name-of-business
Examples:
- angies-list-2025-badge-kenny-and-son-builders
- angies-list-2026-badge-kenny-and-son-builders
- homeadvisor-badge-kenny-and-son-builders
- gaf-certified-badge-kenny-and-son-builders
- owens-corning-badge-kenny-and-son-builders
No variation in naming format is permitted.
Alt Text Requirements
Every badge must include descriptive alt text.
Alt text must:
- Include all readable text shown on the badge.
- Accurately describe the accreditation or award.
Example:
“The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trial Lawyers”
Do not use generic alt text such as:
“Badge logo” or “Award icon.”

alt text tag = The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trail Lawyers

alt text tag = EcoTherm Insulation

alt text tag = Best of the Best Dentists
Design Standards
Consistency
Logos of varying shapes and proportions must be normalized.
- Place each badge on a square canvas.
- Maintain 15–20px white space for uniformity.
- Ensure consistent spacing between badges.
This may slightly adjust original proportions for visual alignment.
Quality Standards
If a badge appears pixelated or low-resolution:
- Confirm placement size.
- Search for higher-resolution sources (resource library or verified source).
- Replace both desktop and mobile assets for consistency.
If a high-quality replacement is unavailable:
- Use the best available file.
- Document the limitation in assumptions if quality impacts presentation.
Missing Badge Policy
If a client references a badge but does not provide a usable file:
- Do not recreate it.
- Do not design a substitute.
- Do not create a text-based replacement.
Add the following assumption: “Assumption: Badge/accreditation logo unavailable, not added.”
