Definition
A Click-to-Call button allows visitors to initiate a phone call directly from the website by tapping or clicking the displayed phone number. It provides a fast, frictionless way for users to contact the business — supporting conversions, accessibility, and user convenience across devices.
Hibu One Smart Site Rules
- Click-to-Call functionality is supported on both mobile and desktop versions of Hibu One Smart Sites.
- On desktop layouts, Click-to-Call buttons may appear in Hero sections, Callouts, Coupons, and Footers.
- On mobile, connected text-based phone numbers automatically display as tappable links.
- Phone numbers used in Click-to-Call buttons must be:
- Active and valid business contact numbers
- Connected through Yext and the Business Information content library
- When a client has multiple business locations or phone numbers, the number used for Click-to-Call must match the primary number listed in Business Information.
- If a client requests alternative button text (e.g., “Call Now,” “Contact Us”), the change may be made
only after first proof.
Design & Accessibility
- The
default Click-to-Call button design must display the full phone number (e.g., Call (555) 123-4567).
Research consistently shows that users are more likely to click when they see a recognizable phone number rather than generic wording such as Call Us or Contact Us. Displaying the number reinforces trust and immediacy, improving conversion rates. - The standard display format for phone numbers across all pages and buttons is (XXX) XXX-XXXX.
- Buttons must maintain AA-level color contrast and legibility against background images or colors.
- Text within the button must be concise, clear, and easily readable at all device sizes.
