Duda Image Optimization

Effective Date: February 1, 2026   Last Updated: February 1, 2026

Definition

Duda automatically optimizes images on Hibu One Smart Sites to improve load speed, performance, and visual quality across devices. This optimization includes resizing, compression, WebP conversion, and delivery through a global Content Delivery Network (CDN). These processes ensure images load quickly without requiring manual adjustments from the user or designer.

This post covers
system-level optimization for standard images. For guidelines on image quality, and file limits, see the Images guidelines

Automatic Optimization

Duda applies several built-in optimization techniques the moment an image is uploaded:

  • Automatic Resizing
Images are resized to match the display dimensions of the element they’re placed in, ensuring they are never stretched beyond their original size.
  • Lossy Compression
Redundant data is removed to reduce file size while maintaining visual clarity. This significantly improves load speed without noticeably affecting quality.
  • WebP Conversion
JPG and PNG files are automatically converted to the WebP format, providing smaller file sizes with high image quality.

Device-Specific Delivery

To ensure images are displayed optimally on all devices:

  • Responsive Images
Duda serves each device (desktop, tablet, mobile) an image sized specifically for that device’s screen and container.
  • Adaptive Content
Images load at the ideal resolution for each viewing environment, keeping them sharp on large screens and efficient on small screens.

Best Practices

To support both quality and performance:

  • Upload images sized appropriately for their intended placement
  • Avoid tiny images that will appear blurry when enlarged
  • Avoid unnecessarily large source files (e.g., 4000px images used in a 300px container)
  • Use high-resolution images for full-width or large background sections
